Volunteer Driver Program
Volunteers use their vehicle to provide transportation to older adults and individuals with disabilities in the Tri-County area for medical appointments, shopping and errands, socialization, volunteering. A driver will choose the commitment level based on their schedule.
Volunteer program details:
- Training is provided
- A simple application and screening process for both riders and drivers
- “Snowbirds” are accommodated
- MRH staff coordinates client and driver scheduling
- Web based scheduling software that allows volunteer to self assign when they drive
Riders will contact our transportation call center to book rides by calling 1-920-225-1719 Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm. We encourage riders to call and book rides early, but we need a minimum of 24 hours.
Rides are given generally during business hours, 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. Rides on weekends and evenings are as requested.
Riders need to be able to safely get into a volunteer’s private car.
